Lemonade Stand

Tonight, our family had a photo session with Third Avenue Photography. It was so much fun! It was a themed "Lemonade Stand" session for our children and we got some great family shots, too! Here are a few teasers from the shoot...

My Birthday Boy!

I'm a little behind, but I wanted to post a few pictures of my sweet, little BIRTHDAY boy! He turned 3! And with John working at Hobby Lobby, I've never felt more crafty! Since R had a special Carter's "first birthday" shirt, I thought I would make H feel special, too, by making him a birthday shirt! Here it is...he LOVED it! And check out his adorable blue canvas shoes from Sears. We got them when we went to exchange another pair he was gifted earlier in the year. He fell in love with them and called him his Royals shoes! Tomorrow, I'll post pictures of his Kansas City Royals baseball-themed birthday bash!

Hudson is 3!

A little about him right now:

Baseball (specifically the Royals, but also enjoys playing)

Loves his teams - Royals, Chiefs and KU

Loves knights and castles and princesses

 Loves trains (really starting to get into Thomas, but generally loves them)

LOVES his sister!

Loves fruit snacks and salty snacks - pretzels, chips, crackers

Loves fruit - grapes, apples, berries, etc and begs for them at the store

Still not a dessert fan

Is starting to understand how to ride his bike...almost there!

Has memorized John 3:16 and recites it regularly (especially when walking through stores) :)

Likes to be LOUD!!!

Bubbling energy and enthusiasm

Loves to be outside

Loves "guys" (action figures, superheroes)

Loves to play dress up

Loves to sword fight and play with his toy guns

Has a huge vocabulary and awesome memory

3 feet tall, 30 pounds

Best Friends Foreeeever!!

Check out my little one and her BFF! These were taken in the church nursery - sharing breakfast and chatting on the couch. I love that she has a little girlfriend that's close to her age. How fun and so sweet!

Discovery Bottles

On Sunday mornings, I'm typically in our church nursery with kids age 0-4. I come up with various activities for the kids to do to keep them busy. I saw this link (Discovery Bottles) on making discovery bottles, and it's been something I'd been wanting to do with my own kids for quite awhile and finally decided to just do it! You can see my little one with her bottle below. (We didn't get pictures of the kids actually making the bottles, unfortunately, but can you imagine 8 kids with lots of glitter, beads, etc?!)

A Big Boy and Banana Bread

Yesterday, my big boy and I made two loaves of banana bread! Yum! One was made with regular flour and one was made with whole wheat flour. I ran out of the white (and usually just use the whole wheat when making honey wheat bread), but decided to try it, and I actually liked it even better! H is becoming so independent and LOVES to help cook!

Talking about being a big boy...today, he finally got a hair cut! It's shorter than I had originally wanted but the stinker wouldn't stop moving around! He loves it. Tonight, he didn't want to lay down on his pillow because he didn't want to mess his hair up! Haha! AND you know your son is getting big when you start calling PRESCHOOLS. Yes, he is getting SO big!
